Anyone use the Ford SPEEDO RECALIBRATOR instead of Speedcal?

I just had a 4.10 gearset installed in my 2001 GT and I was all set to buy the Dallas Mustang Speedcal when I came across this product called SPEEDO RECALIBRATOR (made by ford) on gefracing.com. I tried a search on the forums here but didn't come up with much. Anyone using this product? I called gefracing and the guy told me it automatically calibrates whatever changes I have made to my car. I know with the speedcal, there are dip switches that need to be set depending on what gears the car originally had, and what the new gears are. I like that it's made by Ford, and the harness seems to plug right into the trans. Should I try this or just stick with the speedcal?

You can do the same thing with a diablo sports predator.

Hmmm...bet it's the same as the speedcal. Probably made by the same people and Ford puts their name on it. Same as Brothers and Dallas Mustangs product. One ant hte same.

Okay so it turns out this FRPP calibrator ($88) seems very similar to the Dallas Mustang unit. I did have to open it up and set the dip switches. It has 8 compared to the DM's 10. The instructions were also not very clear on how to setup the switches. The tech line guy told me to divide the old ratio (3.27) by the new (4.10) and that comes up with .797 so I rounded to 80%. So the speedo needed to be slowed down by 20%. Sound right? I guess. Their chart lists switch order by percent.

It seems fairly accurate, but I still haven't compared to another car. It runs about 70mph at 2600 rpm. I have the 3650 5-speed. Anyone else with 4.10 please chime in and tell me if this sounds right.

The nice thing about this unit is it plugs in with factory-style connectors. The only other thing to hook up was the red power wire. See pics.
