At $459 it's half the price of other kits. Does anyone know how it performs?

I've never had an issue with it.

If you have a small bearing rear end then you need to use the same setup off of a crown vic.

Thanks for the replies.
gpoo1, was there any difficulty adapting the '66 emergency brake linkage to the Ford Explorer disc?

That's a really good question. Currie will supply a Lokar e-brake kit. Reputedly, they are not easy to adjust to eliminate drag - at, least, that is what I have been told. I will likely opt for a solinoid-driven actuator that splices into the rear brake hyd. lines. When a switch is thown, the pads lock to the disc. No e-brake is used, but an e-brake function is obtained.

Mico had a brake lock set up like that

Not sure if they still make them. We had one in a construction truck. To be honest, I didn't like it much. Granted this truck was really used hard, but it just wasn't something I'd rely on for extended periods.
If the P brake is a cable setup it shouldn't be hard to fab up. I did a setup for the Cobra brakes on my '66. The only thing I'd do different for a coupe or fastback is eliminate the eyebolt, and fab up the correct length adjustment bar with a bearing support. I've got a couple of pictures on the web page in my signature of what I did. It may give you an idea of how you can do yours.

HTH,

Scott

I have the same Explorer setup on my 68 and 93 and both the e-brakes work good w/o the lokar setup.
