Anyone with a Fuel pressure gauge mounted outside, what about rain?

I don't even have the rubber gasket. It wouldn't fit right the way i had my line run.

Mine has been out in the elements for 2 years with no problems. It's seen rain, snow and there have been times it was iced over for a week. When the car finally thaws out the gauge is fine.

Of course mine is a little bit protected

Mike, no sense taking risks with gas leaks - especially if your lightin up joints in your car! I mounted mine like Mustang 5L5. I kept my windshield wipers functional my making a slanted braket to mount it on that is attached to the cowl wall. Getting the position just right was key as the wiper link arm moves right through that area.

Mustang5L5: How did you mount yours like that. I hate mine sticking up so high. It is fine up there but I'd rather have it down a bit.

Ha, I should just make it a habit to post all the pics whenever i toss my gauge pics up.

Hope these explain everything. I just used an L-bracket that mounted to the front firewall. One bolt for the bracket to the firewall and one to the gauge cup. Tricky part was clearing the wiper stuff

Yeah you can still see it very easily from inside. I change my gauge to an Autometer Phantom style recently. I did it to match my other gauges but it's also much easier to read

That's what I thought. 3-4 joints a day get lit. I will mount it outside or get an isolator.

I put mine in the back of the cowl hood. I put a 2 1/16 hole in it and mounted with the line going right into the engine. No guage to see to steal and no line out in the open and it is protected from rain and helps with glare.

Yes, but they won't appear in the thread I attach them to - just went through that on another thread. When I edit the thread the attachement is there and when I click on it - it appears, but when I submit and the thread comes back - no attachement! Stangnet still has ISSUES with the "upgrade" - mods are you listening?
