question, I bought an aftermarket custom AOD shifter handle to replace the plastic blob the factory puts on, but is there anything more to removing the factory handle other than unscrewing the setscrew that is in the front of it? I did this much and dont want to damage anything by trying to force it off. Is there a second screw, or bracket that I'm missing? any help would be appreciated. thanks!

There should only be that set screw in the front of it. I just replaced mine, and it came off fairly easy. I'm going to assume that maybe the fit is a little tight, and that's why it doesn't want to come off.

The only other pieces internally that are contating one another are a lever attached to the push knob, and a white plastic plunger in the shaft. Yanking on the ball won't hurt anything, but I have no clue as to what is under the shift plate, so maybe try to hold on to the shaft while you start pulling and twisting on it.

That didn't sound so good, did it? But it should work.
