I need to know how to find out the year of my trans (not original to car) to order a rebuild kit. Trans got messed up after shift kit was installed. Got some #'s off it but don't know what to do now. I have to order kit asap. If anyone has info, please help.

I don't know how to run the numbers, but the steal friction disks are the only part that you have to worry about when it comes to the "correct kit." The drums are either steal or cast to accept different splines on the disks. If you MUST get the kit going, you could always just order the SOFT kit from Bulkpart.com that includes seals/frictions no steals. Reuse the steals - if they are factory steals they will be okay. If it has dirrect clutch upgrades like ALOT, then they will be trash.
