I am looking into getting a Ford Racing Shift kit for my AOD. http://www.mustangwarehouse.com/mustang_1.mvc?p=M-7101-F&Category_Code=50E2
Now what will that do for me? Shift faster? Higher RPMS? Let me know, I am curious

If you want your rpms to rise faster invest in some gears..(4.10's are perfect for AOD) & a torque converter with a higher stall will help you achieve higher rpms. You should look into a manual-valve body so you can shift the trans where you want.. lentech makes a good one for AOD's. A good aftermarket shifter would help too.

most shift "improver" kits can hold any gear under WOT in 1st through 3rd, so you can wind out each gear, alot like a T5. it also will shift much HARDER and quicker. if you can stand tha harsh shifts under normal driving conditions, you will love it when you're gettin into it. i think it also somewhat extends tranny life because the shorter shifts puts less strain on tha interal AOD clutches and such... check it out

I'd go with the Baumann Shift kit. It's like $50.00. It's easy to install and you can choose your shift firmness when setting up. My friend installed his in his driveway...literally!! Great product support too.

CORRECTION: it's $60 bucks. http://www.baumannengineering.com/pricing.htm
