I plan on using the stock 66 shifter with the AOD. Is the gear selection lever on the trans supposed to point up when doing this conversion? Also what position would park be on that lever, fully rotated clockwise or counterclockwise? I have very limited space with lt headers if the lever needs to point down (exhaust interference), if this is the case can I go with an aftermarket cable shifter with the lever pointed up?
