carrying on from the post a few days ago, a few of you guys suggested shifting 1-D-1, instruct me on how?? i drove it the other day getting into it a little bit i went from 1st to drive until right before it shifts into third i pulled it back to first and it downshifted back to first, not what i was expecting. now when i get into it a little harder, it breaks tires loose when it shifts into second and then quickly shifts to third. so i realy can't time it right. i also have a traction problem mentioned in another post.

thanks, jeff

well the 1-D-1 is shifting out of first in to 2nd gear, and then as soon as it shifts into second you drop it down to 1st again. by doing that you can hold second gear to any rpm...

now if u do 1-d-1 and it shifts back to first then you must have a shift kit or some other vavle body installed... and in that case you dont need to worry about 1-2-1

and as for shifting into 3rd to fast you need your tv cable adjusted

I did the 1d1 shuffle forever and never had a problem, ive since converted to a t5 but Ill tell you the 1d1 shuffle works very well, will definetly knock off a few tenths. Your gonna have to play around with it though because it will not shift into the next gear for a few hundred RPM theres a slight delay.

it is the nature of ford automatics to shift into OD at too slow of a speed causing the car to fall flat on its face and bog

the 1-D-1 is as follows:
start in 1, wind it up and click it into D. once its shifted fully into the next gear (dont be too hasty and shift it back right as it shifts, you have time) click it back into 1. this will hold 2nd as long as you want to. when you are ready for 3rd simply click it back into D. when you decide its time for OD, click it that last time and cruise

yes it has a shift kit, the tv cable is adjusted to specs, do i need to adjust it differently since it has a shift kit?

Thanks, jeff
