I'm putting a 87 Mustang GT 5.0 and AOD in my '56 TR3. I need to change the speedo gear from 16 teeth to 19 teeth. I have several speedo gears but they are all early model with about 3/4 inch of teeth. The gear that came out of the AOD has about 1 1/2 inches of teeth. They are both the same overall length.
Will this shorter gear still work?
Alternately, does anyone have a source or part number for the correct 19 tooth gear? (Ford dealer was not much help yesterday)
