AOD swap....but engine already balanced....

My buddy has his engine balanced to 28oz and has a 28oz c4 flexplate. He is considering swapping to an AOD. This will mean he needs a new flexplate. Can he just swap to a 28oz AOD flexplate? does something like that exist? Will he have to have his entire engine rebalanced?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

28z AOD flexplate will work; C4 162t 11 7/16" TC bolt pattern will work too. I'm sure Autozone, Pepboys, NAPA etc will have them in stock

I used an 164 tooth AOD flexplate without problem with a large bell 164 tooth C-4 so you shouldn't have any issues re-using the current one unless the C-4 one you have now is 157 tooth as the AOD ones are all 164.If you look at the 164 tooth ford racing flexplates they are designed for C-4/AOD applications http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?N=4294863762+400070+4294925023
