I am having problems with my AOD again, it was off the road for six months due to problems after having it rebuilt and its doing the same thing. It was replaced with a rebuild in july of last year from AutoZone and its going now. Has anyone done an AOD to T5 swap and how difficult was it? I am debating either doing the swap or cough up th extra money and get an AOD from Lentech, Art Carr, etc.

I did it.. The pedals are a pain in the butt, though it is possible lol. I also had problems getting my AOD out, I had to cut it out with a torch. I burnt the tranny and it locked up so I couldn't turn the engine over to get the torque converter disconnected. You shouldn't have that problem though of cousre haha. Other then that it's like doing a clutch job..

It's pretty much a pie job.

the peddles are the hardest part.
I swaped my wifes aod for a t-5
I did the peddle swap at the same time I was doing a heater core saved me some BS.
I say thats the most simple way to do it.
+ it never hurts to change the heater core as it's a real SOB to change anyway.

the hardest part would probably be the pedal assembly

I'll save the server some bandwidth and processor energy and post this . If you read the article a few times and can envision the whole thing somewhat in your mind, than I would think you would have no problem, barring having the right tools. If you read the thing 10 times, and still have no clue what the heck is going on there, I would suggest you do some more research, maybe get a shop manual and familiarize yourself with your car. I think you can do it with a little patience and time. GL.
