aod to ts swap help

i'm going to be swaping my aod out for a t5. i have a 88 gt and i think that i have all the parts i need, trany, bellhousing, flywheel, and pedal assembly out of a 90 gt. i all so have a new spec clutch, pro 5.0 shifter, and adjustable clutch quadrant. but.... the switch on the left (clutch side) of the pedals is broken off or not there. is this the neutral safety switch? and if so can i get away not using it? i would also appeciate any help with this or other insallation tips. thanks
