AOD transmission

my transmission in my 84 shifts at the same rpms no matter how much throttle I give the engine. I have the kick down linkage hooked up and when im slowing down it shifts down just fine. A friend of mine says that the tranny has a vacuum line and I might not have it hooked up. Do AOD's have a vacuum line?

Simply hooking up the kickdown (TV) cable is not the only thing you have to do , you must set the TV pessure. The cable has an adjustment at the throttle body end... the adjustment teeth are vey small and being off one or two teeth can mean a TV pressure reading being wrong by 10 or 20 psi!!! Hope you haven't driven it like that very long of the tranny might be toast. Get the TV cable ajusted ASAP. Read this thread.... and how'd you miss it... it's only one or two threads away from this one!
