aod tv linkage

I'm droppin an aod into a carbed 84 that was converted to 5.0. i'm having trouble finding people who have used the aod with a carb without burning it up. any suggestions/advise? what kind of brackets/linkages/adapters do I need? I have the stock tv cable if its reuseable. thanks for any input.

spend the 55.00 for a lokar cable setup from summit...the factory bracket for the intake is kind of tough to find

I agree. I have a Lokar kit on my friends Cougar for his AOD and the trans shop got it adjusted perfectly.

The Lokar cable makes it very easy. The only consideration is to be certain the cable moves in the same arc and distance as the throttle.

Exactly. Just don't drive it there...
It has to be adjusted in park/N.It can burn up in less than a mile.

can anyone show a pic of the lokar hooked up to trans. was the trans shaft lever pointed down? and did the cable do a loop downwards and come from the rear, was there a boss on the trans to mount it?

did the original spedo cable work? hopefully there is some slack up under the dash that i can pull, cause it dont get it

The stock spedo cable fits just fine. There is a bracket on the fram that you need to loosen in order to move it around.

The lokar kit comes with some instructions. If I recall, it comes with its own bracket for the TV linkage.

bracket is extra from lokar. gotta find those directions....
