Hey eveybody.. I am new and have a question?

I recently was given a freshly rebuilt (performance build) AOD that I wanted to put into my 93 LX. However, I recently learned that it originally came out of a Lincoln Town Car and has the longer 16 inch output shaft as opposed to the 15 inch currently in my car? I measured the extension housing and the one in my car now is 3/4 inch shorter that the one I was given? How big of a problem is this?

You would`nt shorten it you would remove all the guts from yours and put all the guts from the lincoln in your case using your output shaft.

I wouldnt swap the guts at all. I would spend the 300 to take 1 inch outta stock driveshaft and have it balanced . if a tranny shop swapped tailshafts it would prob be 800 or so

Its not that difficult to do you can do it yourself, buy the video or a trans manual and you will see just how easy it is. You could save alot learning your own trans.
