Do anyone have any experience doing an automatic to standard swap on a 94 mustang, if so what things will I need to complete this project? Also, how long will this take and how much am I looking to spend? The AODE trans is about to go....everytime when I accelerate around like 40 the trans starts to vibrate and it's been doing this off and on. Also, I really want a standard cause its boring driving automatic all the time. Thanx in advance.

I did this a while ago, got a kit from Mustang Parts Specialties, but that was in 98, when these cars were still kinda new (not to much int he junkyards yet), I'd piece it together now, prolly alot cheaper. Kit or piecing it together, get a new cable and quadrant, and a quality shifter. Standard tools, jack and stands, no special tools needed, not to bad flatbacking in the driveway. Only thing that is not a bolt on, gotta cut about 1/2 inch from the front side of the existing trans tunnel, dremel will do it easily. Took me about 8 hrs alone in my driveway. Hard parts...moving the heavy AODE around, and swapping the peddle assy's, not to bad though. Go for it

Did you bother to do a search? There must be at least 50 threads about this.

I did it by myself, Wife helped me with the jack. Not to hard, I know I read all the articles and dont belive the ones that say that you can use the auto computer, it doesn't work my car started cutting out real bad at shift points change to the std trans one. Putting in the std pedals is the hardest part, take the seat out to help give you more room to work. Becareful not to cut too much out on the shifter hole put the transmission up to see where you need to cut.
