Does anyone elses AODE bounce into second gear? It like goes to shift and shift and the car kinda bucks...like it bounces in.

Joe, can't say it bounced into gear...but when the old one was going out....I would let off and it would bounce/jerk down............other than that I can't help...

How's the fluid smell? Could just be the MLPS. I think that stands for Mechanical Lever Position Sensor, but not 100% sure. I know alot of guys have problems with the sensor that tells the computer what gear it's in.

No it doesn't over rev, it sort of jumps into gear and kinda bucks...feels like its 'bouncing'.
Is it possible to test the mlps?

Sounds like it might be slipping a tad on the shift...is it kind of like a slide bang.
Probably a broken accumulator spring.
