t5 to auto swap

Hey man, take my advice, stick with your auto, I have a 95 with a 351W, pushing out about 450hp\415torque, with the stock t5, and it went out on me, I'm still tring to find some performance parts for it, about 4 months, now it is in the shop and they say that it will cost around 1500 to rebuild, but the heavy duty upgrade will only hold around 335tq, Ive went to serveral transmission shops and they all turn me around, and they say good luck on finding some more gears for that thing, so instead of going through all of the hassel, I'm putting an auto in it

aode to t5 swap

I did this a while back on my car. Got a kit from Mustang Parts Specialties, a bit pricey, but it came with everything. From what I can recall you'll need: the tranny, pedal assy, bellhousing, driveshaft, shifter+bezel, cable+fork, flywheel, clutch, pilot bushing, x-member and a 5-speed computer. It wasn't a bad job, hardest part was pulling that heavy AODE out of the way. It ran on the AODe computer for a while but drove funny. Not sure but I think the T-5 from 93 will work, but some of the supporting equiptment might not. Good luck.

I not sure that I can answer your question, but I bought a 95 that had a AODE as a stocker and the fellow swapped a manual into it. When I bought it both trans. where gone, but I have the 95 bellhousing, pedal assy, steeda quadrant, firewall adjuster & cable, flywheel from the swap.Interested??
I was told that 94-95 bellhousing is a must to corectly postion the shifter.

When I bought my conversion I bought it from a shop that buys totaled mustangs and sells the parts. I got a whole conversion kit (minus the clutch) for $800.00. It was inside a 95 GT that only had 48,xxx miles on it and in the end it ran perfectly.

Do you guys have problems with your manual tranmissions, because I'm thinking about going to an aode, because I would like to keep my t5, but want it to handle my torque, cause I'm in the process of adding nitro, any suggestions on t5 rebuild kits and gears??? please help

why would an AODE be bette for your torque, usualy the T5's are known to be bullit proof in and around 300-350 tq if i recall correclty from the factory standards?
