are 4:10s too much gear for a 5.0?

I have a 94 Cobra 5.0L with a few mods and I want to do gears next. Originally I was gonna get 3:73s but I was thinking i might regret it and want to get 4:10s.

So my question is, is it a good idea to put 4:10s in a daily driver 5.0 with 100,000+ miles? Most of my driving is around town and on backroads so Im not worried about gas mileage.

Thanks for the input guys.

i know quite a few people with 4:10's in mustangs and they all seem to be very happy with them. you might lose a little top end with 4:10's depending on your setup, but you won't care bacuse of the smile on your face. the difference in the sotp feel alone is worth it.

What makes 4.10s so awesome on the street is that you use the transmission how its supposed to be used, you are able to use all 4 gears on the street, and then o/d only on the highway.....instead of barely getting out of 3rd gear on the street.

Since it is a daily driver I wouldn't go with 4.10's.A lot of shifting around town which wouldn't be fun for me and excessive wheel spin when you get on it.My car spins too easy with 3.55's.I hear you might as well forget about using 1st gear because it is so short.I bet they are great for the track though with slicks.Anyway,to each his own.

My 3.73's are awesome but my impression was that they are a bit too steep for a daily driver of my liking. 1st gear is useless on the throttle with street tires and my stock motored car has no trouble breaking traction in 2nd as well. Sure is fun though!

That's my beef. I'd get 3.55s if you're going to street race at all. I burn rubber halfway or all the way through second depending on the pavement quality and I have 3.73s and a stock h/c/i 5.0.
