Are AFPR's a waste of money?

Just wondering if AFPR's are a waste of money for a Stang making around 275-325 Flywheel HP.

I heard the 5.0 computer just sets the psi back to stock after a small amount of time.

When do you need a AFPR, custom chip,etc.???

They are not a waiste of money. It is a good way to dial in fuel pressure if you are lean or rich. It is impossible for the computer to set the FUEL PRESSURE. It has control over the injectors and there pulse length. If you increase the pressure they spray more fuel in the same amount of time.

They are good heads, definatly worth it. Ditto with mike.

Actually the AFPR works this way....

When you add pressure you will get the extra fuel at WOT ONLY, down low or less then WOT the ECU will adjust the pulse width of the injectors to help it meet the stock style fuel tables and a/f mixture, you will not get any additional fuel once the ECU learns....happens first time the car is driven.

So if the car is lean up top a little then the AFPR helps add the needed fuel, if the car need a lot of fuel up top it need a larger injector. Now for the shameless ad, I have a fully polished Kirban stock style AFPR, less then 500 miles PERFECT shape asking $60 shipped.
