I was reading about Diablosport Predator, Hypertech, Superchips, etc. They seem to have all the same features, and do the same thing. Other than price, what ways are each better than the other?

You have to see "who" supports "what" programmer, meaning if you ever decide to get a custom tune rather than the pre-programmed tune it comes with, can anyone/shop in your immediate area tune it.

Many tuners do one or the other, but usually not both.

Don't even consider a Hypertech. Diablo or the Xcal only.

The xCalibrator 2 is a great beginner flash device in my opinion. It will ship to you without any "pre-set" tunes, but you can have a local SCT dealer give up to 3 different pre-set tunes if so desired. The xcal2 does not give you complete control of the EEC like Advantage 3.0 and Pro Racer, but it will allow you to scale your fueling and spark, and things like your rear gear ratio and your injector constants (size).

SCT's Live Link is also a fairly comprehnsive data logging program as well.

I would buy the SCT Xcal 2 (X2) if I were in the market for a tuner today, although the Predator I have has performed perfectly fine for me and I have no need to replace it. The X2 was not in production yet when I was in the market for a tuner, so the Predator was a good investment for me at the time. Both will allow custom tuning, and if price is a factor, you can probably find a used Predator for around $200 or so. I don't know anything about Hypertech, but I would not recommend the Superchips Max MicroTuner, because it does not allow for custom tuning or for user adjustment of certain parameters that the Predator and X2 do.

I would do the SCT XCal2 also. Alot of tuners use it and is simple to use.

Or you could sell you tuner and buy one that a shop closer uses.

I'll probably go with a Predator. I need something that has some preset stuff for now. I live in a 'void' area, and there are no performance shops, tuners, or any of that stuff around for at least 150 miles. There are fast cars around here, but not enough to warrant a speed shop. I had to drive 130 miles to just buy my Mustang.

San-man and blubullet are dead nuts on with their advice. Get what the local shop can tune.

SCT HANDS DOWN! There are many more SCT dyno tuners than diablosport.

You can go to www.modularpowerhouse.com and have one of the best tuners in the country (Tim barth) mail you a tune specific for your mods. Just call them up, tell them what you have and what you want....and they should get one shipped to you
And it will be about dead on....WAY better than any canned tune from diablo.

50 miles is nothing, enjoy the drive. I drive a little over 50 miles round-trip to work every day, and the closest dyno shop to me (that I would trust) is probably 30 miles away.
