Are spring Isolators Necessary?

You'll get a little bit more drop, maybe 1/4 an inch. I had all of mine out and ended up putting the rears back in due to severe metal on metal rubbing noise.

I just ordered new front and rear isolators due to the worst noises possible!!!!! do yourself a favor and replace them when its apart.....you might want to replace the rack bushings with offset ones and also use steeda ball joints

when i dropped mine i actually put the top isolater on a circular sander & took a good 1/4 in off of it. dunno if it really did anything, but i had access to it & though why not. but another choice you have is to go to lowes or home depot & get a little bit of rubber tubing & put it in place of the isolater, it's much thinner, & still gives you the protection from the metal to metal contact :nice:

Ok, I just got finished with the install, and I drove it around an empty parking lot hard, hard turns, launch, and some hard breaking. The first time I hit the breaks really hard, I got a grinding, metal to metal sound, I did it again and the noise lessened. I repeated this until I got no noise. They are absolutely quite now.

I have had 4x4's all my live and never got a grinding sound from the suspension, and they were various coil sprung trucks. Maybe they make grinding noise until the paint is worn off the contact area, or they just need to be seated well, not sure but I'm happy at this point, I'll let you know if they start making noise again....

jeff1414, let me make sure that mine will stay quiet and I'll send you mine...unless shipping is crazy.

I guess I have a magical car because mine doesn't squeak and neither do any of my friends.
Yeah, mee too. I have had my isolators out all the way around for almost a year now, and have not heard anything like you guys are describing. lighten up on the bong and maybe the noise will go away. :p
