it could be either...
look in the door tag

m=2.73
z=3.08

under ax code

only gear that is specific to tranny is 3.27's and they were aod only

unless you owned the car since new, I would jack up the rear and check it myself. We dont get new tags when we install gears.

2.73's standard.

3.08's optional on 5-spds.

3.27's optional on AOD's

Race some better drivers in the 99+ cars...

Anyways...does the door codes below apply to the 94/95 cars as well?

m=2.73
z=3.08

Kind of a related topic. I bought my car and the guy who sold it to me threw in a new set of 3.55s to replace the whining 3.55s that were in the rear currently. I want to put new gears in because the whine is driving me insane, but don't know if I should just replace the 3.55s that are in it with new 3.55s or 3.73s. What are the differences between the two? Will I notice a difference? RPM difference?

Oh, and is anybody interested at all in buying/trading for a brand spankin new set of 3.55s?

I saw a little while ago i had code Z, and I was all excited because i thought it seemed a little quick, but i didnt know...

....then i did a 5 lug swap and saw they were FRPP 3.73s...nothing like finding free goodies! even if you are already used to them.

My old 5-spd 95 GT had 2:73's. I swear I could punch it, call my GF, and be off the phone before I hit redline.
