If they are C style heads and have water passages on the intake gasket surface, they are B302 heads.

the boss was basically a cleveland combustion chamber built to fit on a small block (289-302) block...so yes, 289 water passages, and intake ports you can throw a barnyard animal through!
Ok, I found another set of heads in the basement and those dont have the water passeges so those must be cleaveland heads and the other heads have the passeges so those must be Boss heads

That's my basement you've been finding those parts in! Put them back so I can come and get them. Now where is my basement located?

C style would mean canted valves. If you look at the valve springs it should be apparent that the valves aren't parallel to each other. To me that's the easiest way to tell a Cleveland style head from other small block Fords.TOM B said:Do you mean the passages on the ends of the head like a 289 has and what do you mean c style

Case in point; Windsor on top, Cleveland on bottom:Hack said:C style would mean canted valves. If you look at the valve springs it should be apparent that the valves aren't parallel to each other. To me that's the easiest way to tell a Cleveland style head from other small block Fords.
The Cleveland head is not that much bigger than the W; the C head is just closer to the camera.
