are those cheap ebay lowering springs any good?

saw a few sets real cheap on ebay, one which i forget the name was $60 buy it noe and the other was maxspeed for $75...are these any good, or should i go with something more well known like bbk or eibach? also, do i need to do anything else when lowering, or just the springs? i onle want a 1.5" drop as my new shocks have raise my car up and it now looks like a monster truck....

i've always heard "you get what you pay for" so i'd just splurge the 200 and get the good stuff from the beginning.

all you "need" is the springs, but c/c plates are agood idea for any amount of lowering.

and shocks can't raise your car up.

my buddy bought some for a colorado off ebay and they seem to work pretty good but if it was me id pay the money for something i know is trust worthy.

eBay is great for many things...but I would not trust the weight of my car riding around on generic crap bought from eBay. I did however get my entire Tokico HP setup on eBay (new) for less than any store had it listed for online.

if your shocks are shot enough, putting new ones on can raise the vehicle....and ohh the ride will be so much better

I would want to compare things like spring rates, etc.
Though I have not used the generic stuff (running Eibachs right now - which are brutal on dampers if you ask me), I would also rather stick with the brand name stuff (even though the generics might be ok). Then again, some guys think cars with cut springs ride decent, so it is all relative.

Critic, I just got some HP's to install with the Eibachs. I am eager to see how it feels.

I have the max speed springs on my car. they are almost identical to the eibach ones. I have no complaints with them yet. I just bought them to see what my car was like lowered.

I usually do buy the name brand stuff, was just wondering what you guys thought, thanks for the info.......so how do you guys like your cars lowered? handling noticeably better? anything else? thanks

1-1.5" drop all around and I love it. After I got the car aligned (get good caster camber plates - I went with Steeda) it was a dream.

All of my stock crap was pretty much shot, so new suspension of any sort would've been nice, but with the Tokico springs and shocks/struts, along with Steeda caster camber, BBK strut tower brace...the only issue I have cornering is keeping the tires from spinning where as before I felt like I was going to die taking a corner at any speed.

One note - front tires will rub if I cut the wheel ALL the way, as in parking in a tight space. Other than that, I love it.

Critic, I am sure you know, but rack limiters might work well in your case........

i dont know how the hell it works, but i used to have a dodge dynasty, and when i replaced the rusted out shocks, it sat a little higher.

I dunno either. But my stang when i first bought it leaned like 1/2" more on the driver then the passenger side. I replaced the worn out rear shocks and quad shocks and now my car sits perfectly level.

My guess would be this. May not be right but here goes. When a shock is new everything inside works perfectly, holds pressure/fluid ect ect.. when they get old there isnt as much fluid/pressure inside the shock therefor it cannot extend all the way up like it should, hence when you put on new ones thats why it can raise it a bit.

someone correct me if im wrong.
