ARGH! gas price

Saw that as we just went and bought another Apple product at B.mac (powerbook G4) and a SCROLL MOUSE FOR MY G5 I AM SO HAPPY NOW THAT I CAN SCROLL

weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

I hate to sound like some kind of "high roller" ... I'm not. The price of gas is expensive .. .YES. But to see 50-70 cars lined up outside the last gas station on St.Jean BLVD to raise it's prices (still at $ .85) this afternoon and wait for over an hour ... makes me go ... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

The average care is 40-50 litres to fill ... a $ .10 hike in the price will only increase your fill by $4 to $5 .... now considering the minimunm wage is $8.15 (or something like that) .... 1/2 an hour sitting and waiting is counter productive. I'm no economist but ... I can do simple math. To fill my Cherokee would now cost me today $85 ... yesterday $76 ... for the $9 difference ... I'd rather sit home and with my kids or sit in front of the idiot box for an hour than to wait for a $9 savings. It's ONLY gas.

Now that I got that off my chest ... where's the thread about shooting birds ... some flying rat stained my top real good.

:D

Well i wouldnt sit and wait for gas 0.10 cheaper, there was no real wait when i went actually i think there was more people at esso with gas 10c more! but heh

then again if any gas station would do like ING did in LA last year and give free gas i wouldnt mind waitting a bit :)

Sorry ... I didn't mean to imply you were/would wait ... I was just expressing my "bewilderment" at others.

What's $5 more bucks at the pump ... My buddies Jean Charest and Paul Martin will find another way to take it out of my pockets ... what's $100 million between friends ?

Hey 5ohhhh,
where abouts are you in Montreal? I also couldnt help notice the gas prices, as well as the parking lot @ Ultra"Marde" today.

I'm a "travelling" Montrealer ... born and raised in the West Island ... work there ... but live in the South Shore (Brossard).

I got one of these interesting e-mails from a group here in MTL that's trying to start a boycott of gas companies on certain days to make them feel some pressure ... soon as I can find it ... I'll post it.

Just a quick fact .... for those that don't know it .... $.48/litre of gas prices are taxes, Federal, Provincial and of course Municipal. Between those 3 ... $4 billion has been collected EVERY YEAR over the last 10 years. The reason for those taxes ... infrastructure. Now why with $40 billion can't I drive from 1 end of the island to the other without hitting 10 "potholes" the size of volkswagons? Like I said before ... what's $100 million between friends? Who else is going to fund $5 miilion dollar trips for the Gov. General and Denis Arcand to go to Finland to study how "nothern" societies live ... like we're not "nothern" enough ?

Don't even get me started !
