you know, i talked to the head tech at stangsuspension.com and he told me that even the H&R Sports (that i am/was? trying to sell) wont hurt for drag racing purposes as much as the FRPP "C" or Steeda Sport springs, even though the H&R's offer a bit more of a drop.

Here's what he said:

Brandon,

At a certain point, springs will have a negative affect on drag racing
traction, although the H&R sports, should not have be a problem.

There are so many other variables that affect launching, the somewhat
stiffer spring rate of the H&R sports (which are actually softer than
the Ford C's or Steeda sports) will not affect your launches...

A Mustang in particular is more affected by:

A. bad rear end design
B. loose/poorly designed stock rear control arms
C. twisting of the rear end (caused by combination of shocks, control
arms, lack of panhard bar)
D. street tires (will never yield the best launches)

If you want a nice drop, do the H&R sports.... Then improve your
launches in the above ways... Control arms, rear end fixing, tires,
etc.

Sincerely,

Josh Sadowsky

I'm thinking LongTubes

and jason, that codyss guy is at it again. he's telling me a stock ss would "walk" (i hate when they use that word) a stock GT, and that the two races i witnessed between you and stu, the mustang won because i like mistangs.. ie, he's saying im full of ****.. then they're also saying a blown gt making 375 to the wheels almost got walked by a SS making 330, although the ss injectors can only support around 260. (this was in a video) then he they said "well the ss had an intake and it still almost took the GT" they're so fugging retarded man. the guy who made the vid drives a GTP and apparently said the GT had a brand new motor and wasnt going WOT bc it hasnt been tuned right or broken in yet. so now they're all saying the GT guy is just making excuses cuz he almost lost to a near stock cobalt. you cant get through to them man. they wont accept that a GT, modded or not, can beat a Cobalt SS.

H&R sports have a max of 575 for the front BUT 285 max for the rear, when it comes down to it you need softer spring rates for the rear, BUT guess what? He IS wrong. Steeda Sport springs run a max of 250 at the rear, which means the rear H&R's will be better for a launch. Not the same as "C" spring cause they rin 300 max at the rear.

A. Rear end design is fine.
B. It's the bushings.
C. Bushings again, Torque Arm/PHB will yeild the best, just adding a PHB won't do much at all
D. I agree with tires.

Do upper and lower control arms with an anti sway. You could even do a Performance K member.

I was going to say bushings, but i figured you had made that one of your first mods.

ok, what im wanting is a dd car with a lowered stance that can drag launch. that eliminates the eibach drag launch kit. i already have the H&Rs in a box, never installed. what would you suggest?

i do plan on getting some Pro3i or MM LCAs in a few months if that helps any.

Definitly go Polyurethane bushings...in fact i'm not sure they offer anything else in an aftermarket setup. Your car will come together with time...just do the biggest $ items first. Get em out of the way.

The users request that "this thread is done", so I lock them AFTER they have already started a new one.

If you combine all the AR threads, they have probably taken the title.
