Jason you just found it lol.. Yeah it has alot of great info its what turned me to going just N/A it seems alot nice way to go and its differnt I think.. Alot of the 4.6s we read about have some power adder.. I would love to see a N/A 4.6 get into 10's or even 9's.. But I was kinda blown away with how far these motors have came and its not going to stop.. I must say there is something thats just so cool about a nice loopy idle of a N/A motor.. A blower cant even come close to that sound thats just my 2 cents about this tho..

no dice its still overheating and NOW its idling rough at low rpms........ WTF is the deal

ok man ill try and help you out the best i can. ive had some probs in the past with cooling. but here it is i would check alll your hoses like david said make sure they arent colapsin and radiator because if you have a crack or a leak in one of them it will suck air into the system when the t-stat opens up and cause air pockets in the system and make it over heat but if that is all good i would check the water pump and see if it is pumpin water and sometimes they go out the leak from the front but in some cases the dont they leak somewhere else but if it is your head gasket and water and anitfreeze get into the combustion chamber it will blow alot of white smoke out of the exhust but dont get it confuse with it bein cold out side but keep is posted on whats goin on

Alright guys i have a buddy comeing sometime next week to burp the system really well and make sure the air is ALL out of it... but now its idleing ruff at low rpms.. i wonder if the cats are clogged.. the car has 130k miles on it and im wondering if its not throwing off the o2 sensors and causing it to run really rich.. im fixen to order an x pipe an dsee if that helps and maybe i can get this all figured out.. if it aint one thing its another lol

I would think if your stock cats are clogged you would have noticed a progressive "low rpm stumbling problem"...but not all of a sudden.

I'm not positive (since it's been so long since I have had a stock h pipe w/cats) but I believe on the 5.0L's the 02 sensors are before any of the cats...but maybe there is two right before it. I can't recall...it's late...again just throwing out useless ideas...:)

I bet it is related to your heating issues...but who knows:shrug:

I agree on both of these points. The engine's temperature fluctuation/variance is likely causing the ECU to act up, as there is not any consistency in the temperature.

This might sound trivial to ask, but is the coolant mixture a fresh change, at 50/50?

Clint:

Since you've got flowmasters (chambered muffler), i'd recommend a Prochamber or H-pipe.. most X-pipes sound like total **** with chambered mufflers.. but just make sure you dont get a stamped X, like BBK's.. try to get a true X, such as SLP or Dr. Gas :nice:

Just tryin to help ya out, so you dont order an X-pipe and be liek "damn, this sounds like ****.. why didn't anyone tell me it would?" :D

But if it's an X-pipe that you're really wanting, I think I might know somebody who's gonna be selling one sometime  We'll just have to see tho, it's a NICE ass X-pipe.. True X and it's modular :)

Guys ive been thinkin about the cats too.. i just talked to my mustang bud and he said its a great possibility too so i just ordered a BBK off road x pipe and mil's maybe this will help it ... im believe that the car is richinin out because its not throwing the exhaust out and it pushes more gas to it to burn the exhaust outta the car which causes it to run rich and to run hott maybe when this pipe comes in all my problems will go away

Usually BBK is good stuff, i'll be getting their long tubes whenever I get to.. but the BBK X-pipe is stamped, so it's not a True X.. It gets a tin-can sound at higher rpm and usually sounds like pure butt with chambered muffs.. but you never know how it'll sound on the ol' Cob! :nice:

But, a cheaper one would be VRS X-pipe, cheapest stainless steel true-x out there :)

Hey guys, look what some bald guy in brown shorts dropped off at my house today

I knew you would bail on SLP. :p
blah! crapola i just bought the Bassani cheap so I could sell it and donate the procedes to charity.

I still love my II's, and always will. But, Im one of those people who wont settle for my 2nd choice. (not that slp was my 2nd choice, but you get the idea). I just want deeper. Bassani has the best quality of chambered and straight through mufflers. Deep throaty rumble and exotic up top :nice:
