Hello everyone, Today I got my first mustang! Now I know it is not the most desired year (96) but being that I got it for $500, I feel it is a great place to start for a project car! Just a little about the car, 1996 3.8 v6 161k miles on the body and 100k on the engine. The car is in rough shape, but nothing I can't fix. My father and I will be starting on it this weekend. I will attach some picture for everyone to see what I will be dealing with and I will create another post later showing the progress

Welcome to Stangnet.

$500 for a running car is a good deal. Better deal if it's a running Mustang!

Look around our '96-'04 subforums, you'll get plenty help with any aspect of your new car.

It's cool that your father wants to be a part of the project with you.

Start a new thread in the General Talk section of the above subforums. Talk about your plans, people will jump in with help.

Good to have you with us.

my dad does auto body so we are going to be doing a full color swap to black :D this weekend the project begins but can't paint it til I can find a trunk lid for it . already found a hood
Well cool. I've been a painter since forever (at least it feels like it). I bet this will be fun for you, and I bet it will be a gem for your dad. Nothing better than getting to spend time with your son while working on a mustang, unless of course you have the Swedish Bikini Team delivering you two beers while you work on the mustang.
