1. black smoke coming out the tail pipe
2. rough idle at start
3. no throttle response
4. lights dim when ac on heat on radio turned up loud
I changed the carb 3 times already. Still no improvement had it tuned professionally. could it be
1. head problems
2. cam flattened out
3. crappy carb "motorcraft carb"
4. gas tank has a hell of alot of trash
5. fuel deliver problems
I need some help

don't quote me on this cause I'm not an expert but wouldn't a few of those be the cause of a problem with the battery?

The dimming lights could be your battery.

When did you last change your oil?

What year is you car, by your info, you probably have an 1986 or below.

Some of those problems mght be with your alternator.

Probably your Alternater, are you using a audio system that you put in, it could be too powerful and drawing too much power. Especally if you have a Sub or Amp.

Alternator, battery, and sounds like you have some kind of oil leak giving you the black smoke.

lol only 85,000 original miles yea I think I need to use that 3.8 for a boat anchor and slip a 302 in her

That doesn't sound like a bad idea. Any idea how many hp your engine was originally rated at?
