Aside From Drinking And Cars, What Does Everyone Else Do To Unwind?

My dadcame by today with a new .44 lever action marlin rifle.

We were going to shoot it, but we got sidetracked with my pistols. I got to fire, strip and clean a Kimber 1911 .45, an HK usp .40, and a Glock 20 10mm. They were all nice, but man that Kimber shoots sweet!
Which kimber do you have? I would love to take one of theirs and send it over to Ed Brown for some serious customization. Kimber makes beautiful mid priced 1911's.

That block 20 has a little kick to it, doesn't it? Any 10mm has always impressed me. I'm a huge fan of the 1911's in the .45acp format, but that 10mm.....whew! Almost can live with the "little" round there.

Another reason i like you Allen, and your dad has a marlin .44 too. I really like marlin's lever actions. Those would allow me to camp in bear country, that and a S&W .500 pistol....

Aside from drinking beer, sometimes this comes into play

The Kimber is a 1911 Custom II. It's funny. Out of the Glocks, Sigs, Hk's, and S&W, the Kimber is my fav.

And that 10mm is stout, but in a semi auto the recoil isn't as tough as I thought it'd be. Nowhere near my 629 Classic .44 S&W. Magnum rounds in that thing wil REEE- COIL! Lol...

Since moving out of SoCal I have rekindled my love of motorcycles, thus keeping the Fox stuck in long term storage.
I have had a few since 2013

I just sold this one yesterday

And my FJ-09 I love this bike! I am considering getting a new dual sport, something fuel injected with 6 speeds.

I have had up to 3 at the same time but as of today only FJ-09 remains.

Another old hobby of mine I let go. I love all of those bikes! Excellent taste! Always wanted a super moto, I've looked at the DR and the Husky. How did that Husky do? Plenty of power?

I've had the itch for one of these lately. Nice looking rifle! I take it that's an aftermarket stock?

Nope. It's a matching numbers refurb. Haven't touched a thing other than spend hours getting the cosmoline out. That one is dated 1938. I'll see if I can dig up more pics of it up close. I've prob had it 15 years.

I've got a 1926 as well.

The one I'm shooting above is a 1944 dated m44 carbine. It's the one I shoot the most. Pretty much a flame thrower.

I play guitar a little, make knives from time to time, but my biggest hobby is firearms and reloading. Guns are the main reason I kept getting sidetracked on the 86. I like to tinker and amateur gunsmith, and have upgrade lists for my guns just like my cars. I also do a little bit of leather and wood work, but only as it applies to my knife and gun hobbies.

Kimber Ultra Carry wearing the first set of grips I made, next to the first knife I made.

Mountain biking, really fast, downhill... Used to race cross country in the 80 and 90's, then got into downhill, then raced downhill, now I just like to ride, mostly downhill, but I pedal when I have to.

Off roading, seeing just what my Wrangler can do. Been off roading since the mid 90's.

Shooting, just recreational, only have 3 guns, 2 pistols and a shotgun. (Sig 239-9mm, Sig 220sas-45cal., Mossy 12ga 590 Marine), I like it, I'm not that into it.
I don't like yard work but I do it.
I don't like pool maintenance, but I do it.

Judging by the amount of time and the number of posts, I would have to say Stangnet.

Somewhere far behind that is my computer/electronics stuff. The computer is in use every day, the electronics sits idle for long periods of time until something electronic breaks or I get a bug to build some test tool or gadget.

Couple more pics. Just realized I haven't laid eyes on this rifle in over a year. Time to dig it out and take it to the range. Shooting really isn't a major hobby of mine. The wifey isn't a fan, and we have young kids so they stay buried under 2-3 levels of locks/safes. I rarely pull them out.

I've got WAY too many hobbies, which is why my fox never gets the funds it deserves... but it's a long term project.

I shoot competitively (USPSA and IDPA) and reload for it, as well as hunt, wakeboard, surf, track days on my motorcycle, and COOKING! But my kids are not a hobby, and I've got no time for anything else so I typically go in cycles.

Beef ribs, taters, beans, cornbread...

Other than working on car toys and drinking? Some playing on the Waverunner, NInja. dirtbike, some occasional shrimping and crabbing, walking with the dogs, and recently, cleaning up from the hurricane. Kinda slowed down on sailing. As above, have not been to the range in a year.
