Just installed a A5 from Astro Performance with new RAM clutch, TOB, resurfaced flywheel, Steeda adjustable quadrant and pilot bearing. The transmission shifts very nice but in 3rd gear during acceleration the stick vibrates violently. I backed off the stops on my hurst shifter but that did not help.
I've read some forums and seems a lot of people have vibration in several gears. Mine only vibrates in 3rd gear and gets worse as engine speed increases so I don't think its the driveshaft, harmonic balancer, cross-member or engine mounts. I would also think a bad pilot bearing would cause vibration in all gears.
Any ideas? Anyone with an astro transmission have similar experience?
