At what ET do you need a cage?

I'm trying to remember if it's 11.99 or 10.99 when you're required to have a cage? If so how many points?

not sure but I believe our local track says anything faster than a 11.49 you need an 8 point

A cage is 9.99 and faster 10+ point. 6 point rollbar is at 11.49.

FWI, they have changed the rules reguarding helmets & d/s loops I forget what else changed that might apply to a street/strip car. My 2009 NHRA rulebook is at the office.

i know it was a 11.99 and under u need a 5 bar one bar but every 1 just does the 6 bar cage and its good to a 9.99 and faster than that u need a 10 point and that was good to a 7.50 but the rules changed and a 10 point is only good to a 8.50 ms and a 8.30 cm. i had heard the 11.49 is only good for cars that can run that fast stock

Around here it is 11.49 or faster and 13.4 for a convertible ...great...lol...for a vert its a 6 point and a harness.....

Any car running 13.99 or quicker w/slicks or a D.O.T. approved slick must use a d/s loop. Also it depends on how the track techs the car. Some are thorough. Some aren't.

I'm sure you have these, but some tracks check everything.

Believe it or not i have neither...never had it on slicks so i never bothered. There's a lot of things i need to start doing now that the power is there.
