I just finished my tranny cooler install no leaks so I'm happy. Everything I read suggests you will need to install about a qt of ATF. So I started it and shifted it into neutral and it ran for about 3-4 minutes. B&M says let it run for a few minutes in neutral. I checked it and the fluid level was right between the cold and hot. Then I saw in the manual it says to go through each gear and let it engage. So I started it and let it engage in each gear then back to park for another 3-4 minutes. I check it again and now it is right in the middle of Hot.
I just had a tranny flush at the dealer yesterday to put in Mercon V. It seems that after I have installed the tranny fluid it does not need any added. I was going to take it for a quick spin around the block and check again but if it stays right in the middle of Hot that seems like it's fine correct?
Has anyone else installed a tranny cooler and not had to add extra fluid?
