Atomatic Transmission

I JUST got a 1990 Mustang 5.0 GT. It's a kickass car but it's an automatic. I don't want to change the transmission to a manual until I get a good feel for the car. But I want it to be as close to a manual in performance as possible. What kind of upgrade would you guys suggest to make the tranny not such a factor with speed?

well, what kind of money you looking to spend?

you could go the cheaper route and get a shift kit. It will get you a little more performance(quicker more firm shifts)
OR
you could go with new valvebody, torque convertor,and internals(stronger od band, a peice shaft, etc...

I guess its a matter of money. how much do you want to spend?

get yourself some gears- 4.10's and a nice higher stall converter. It will feel like a new car.
