when installing a new intake manifold be sure to tighten all hoses when finished, especially the water pump hose....if you do not you will be a moron like me and have to buy a a new coil to replace the one you fried ....other than that a new manifold is mint so put one in yourself....mmmm new mod

Get that, just can't see water reaching the coil from any of the hoses.

i agree....what....with your coolant line literally spraying and drenching the coil with coolant which is like at least a foot and a half away from the thermostat housing...and your heater hoses are on the other side of the intake so that is rulled out.....im thinkin you had a short to ground or a cross short....

no it was coil i replaced it yesterday morning and it works now...it was big hose that goes into goose neck to t-stat housing so not really one of water pump hoses at all....my b....but there was enough pressure that i heard it pop and bang against the hood and then it splased everywhere off the hood on to engine...i felt like such an ass with a huge cloud of steam billowing from the engine at the exxon station, especially when a slowmaro drove by pointed and laughed....but i smoked an LT-1 Z-28 tonight so i feel much better now
