I may be moving to the portland, hillsboro, beaverton area from san diego in a few months (job relocation). What type of laws do you have for modified vehicles? (smog, registration, some sort of test center?) I have a blown 88 and the exhaust is cut off after the muffler. I also have a lifted jeep with big tires. Any feedback, tips, or links you guys or gals can give me? Also are there any good performance or dyno tune shops in the area? TIA

if you can pass cali smog, then you should pass the Porland area smog checks.

I think portland is the only area that tests.

...yeah, housing is less expensive, and there is no state income tax. (but if you work in Ore your screwed anyhow)

For the shops check my sig.

For your stang, you might have to get tailpipes... Oregon does a visual inspection, and even if you pass the sniffer test, you can fail on the visual. (nazi *%#$@!*)

Have one last run up Garnet Ave for us will ya... (I miss Mooses and the Planet and the Silver Fox and ...etc...)

Welcome to the area.

Check your post on the corral. I responded to your identical. As far as dyno shops, torque freaks is the place to go in Oregon. FAST specialties is across the river in vancouver, though I haven't been there. FAST has a mustang dyno, and torque freaks has a dyno jet.
Also, greater portland area is subjected to emissions, as is medford (southern oregon). If you access the DEQ sight, you may view a detailed map displaying the areas subject to testing.
