I will be changing my rear end gears this spring and will be putting in a differential of some sort. I mostly hear about the Ford Racing and Trutrac differentials but no body really mentions the Auborn. I've done a little research and it does seem to be a good differential. Unfortunately I can't get the Trutrack because it does not appear to work with traction control and I would like to know how the Auburn compares to the other differentials before deciding on what exactly to get.

Has anyone gotten an Auburn or know someone who has that can give a good comparison to the other differentials? I know the Auburn is more expensive than the others but I would like to know as much as I can about what is available.

From what I've read, it's stronger than the T-Lok but not as strong as the TrueTrac. It might be a good choice for you. Unless you plan on using slicks or drag radials, you'll probably be ok with a T-Lok.

I have the traction control option on my car and was strongly considering adding the True Trac. Where did you hear that it wouldn't work with traction control?

I wish I could remember the web site I read that the Truetrac doesn't support traction control. I've spent the last couple of days looking for it again. I'm going to write Tractech and ask them to make sure. If I can be used on a Mustang with traction control it seems to be the thing to get.

Well I can tell you that the the Ford Racing T-loc does work with the Traction Control system. I've installed it on my 05 Mustang V6. If you start to spin your tires on snow or just trying to burn rubber, the traction control kicks in and you stop all spinning. now if you turn off the traction control, thats a hole different ball game...lol

If I am not mistaken, the traction control (TC) on our Mustangs is a function of the ABS and has nothing to do with our differentials. If TC would work on a GT, which has a LSD, why not any LSD? The TT is not that different from the T-LOK that one would work and one wouldn't. True, the gears are different (worm vs. spider) but their fucntion and principle is the same. I think the only real difference is that in a turn, the TT splits the torque 70/30 instead of just opening up an giving 100% to the outside wheel.

I may be wrong about the TC and TT, as I am just using reason to support this, not in-depth research or knowledge to a substantial certainty. If anyone knows, please clarify, as I have TC and a TT.

BTW, it is snowy and icy around here and the TT makes a HUGE difference. My car no longer feels a little squirelly in slick spots, but solid.
