my friends just installed a dvd headunit into his car, and the subwoofers only come on when the radio is playin, not the cd player, but the amp stays on.... help
You probably have the remote turn on lead connected to the blue power antenna lead off of the radio. The head unit cuts power from the power antenna lead when the radio isn't selected. You just have to find another lead that is a constant 12v. There usually is a separate lead for an amp turn on. I had an old JVC head unit and both the power antenna lead and the remote turn on lead were blue. I just tried both of them until one of them worked.
EDIT: just saw that the amp stays on. Some of those new high tech head units have certain settings you have to play with ?

sounds like a great place to get it started. IM with him on this one. Its been a year or two since i looked at mine, so i couldnt help with which wire is the correct remote, or accessorie wire to use.
