1) Can anyone give me any pointers on possible problems I may encounter on installing an electric antenna on my 68 coupe? I will be using the stock hole in the fender.

2) What is the molding called that "holds" the front edge of the rear inside quarter panel, you know the one that the window crank is in the middle of, to the inside metal/bodywork? It comes out of the bottom of the scuff plate and goes up into the window molding. And who carries it?

I think the rear deck behind the back window is a better place to install a powered antenna. That way if it fails or you have problems with it you can access it through the trunk.

EDIT: Just to clarify, I mean to install the antenna on top of the rear quarter, so that it retracts into the wheel well.

You might, also, consider a "Hidden Antenna" from Custom Auto Sound - http://www.custom-autosound.com/

Just my thoughts.

I want to stick with the RF fender I think. Any help on that - or the molding? Anyone? Beuller? Beuller??

I installed a custom autosounds power antenna in the stock location without any problems. Only two things were kinda difficult: removing the metal cover behind the wheel that seals off the fender (two screws were on inside, hard to reach) and the provided attachment nut was smaller than stock (need to take your time with the bezel to hide the large factory hole in the fender).

You will also have to run your hot lead into the interior along with the antenna lead, and find a spot to bolt the support strap to.

I put my power antenna in the rear passenger quarter, but I don't think you will have any problems mounting it in the existing fender hole. You will need 2 wires in addition to the antenna cable. 1 for power, 1 for a trigger to put the antenna up/down. I would just spiral the 2 wires around the antenna cable.

I believe the molding you are refering to is a piece of windlace, at least that is what I have on mine
