auto shifters where ashtray goes

Hey who all has done this and what kind of shifter will fit in this area. I am looking for a Hurst or B&M shifter that will be in the ball park to fit, I can tke a little out of the console if needed.

Yup,that is exactly what I was looking for. Did you just bolt it to the floor and get the ash tray out of the way. Doesnt look too hard to do, just wanted to see if anyone had experience with this.

It's very easy. I just bolted it right the the trans tunnel

why would you want it there instead of the stock location?

With it there I don't have to lean forward to grab the shifter. It's out of the way of the CD player and the ashtray door was broken. I haven't took any new pics but where the stock shifter went it know is two cup holders. I like it. It's something different.

Thanks that is what I wanted to know, i am also thinking of getting the arm rest delete from 5.0 resto.

I'll have to take some. It's nice. It hold's two cups. I made it out of aluminum. I need to polish it or get it chromed.
