yes u can, it is pretty simple! you just need the trans, bellhousing, flywheel, pilot bearing, clutch assembly, pedal assembly and clutch cable. You are looking at about 1500 depending on the trans

The hardest part for me was the pedal install with the quadrant. I think AMP out of AZ has a pretty good deal. I bought my kit for 1600 shipped with a world class T5

I wouldn't say its "easy" that AOD is a beast to get out. Make some friends fast, especially ones that can get you access to a lift.

I bought another car to do the swap, swapped both trannies and re-sold the car. Lost $700 on the deal mainly because I sold the car back on campus instead of back home.

The hardest part of the swap is dealing with the piddly ****. IE rusted exhaust pipes/nuts, stupid stubborn piolt bearing that wouldn't come out (for the AOD going back in), misc part runs....forgetting that without the reverse light wiring harness (car I bought was an AOD - T-5 swap, no harness) you have to jump the conncection to bypass the neutral safey switch. (took about 3 hours to figure out why my car wouldn't start).

As for the pedal assembly, have your buddy do that part!!!

Good luck!

get scared son , it's normal ! i just put the t5w/c in my 69 torino 351w, first it sounded like a walk in the park.
i am still stuck here trying to figure out why my car vibrates all of a sudden, she never vibrated with my FMX. i have change flywheels, ballanced wheels, and i even got a new driveshaft made and ballanced and the freaking thing still vibrates.
personally i think it's easy to be pushed into doing stuff but when you are stuck and can't figure stuff out nobody will answer your posts. i could have bought me a whole nother car for what i am spending on this "easy job" and i still can't get my car to run like it did with the FMX....BUT...BUT... THE T5 IS ONE ASS HAULING TRANNY, it makes the car really jump out on demand sepecially if you have a nice rearend to back it up.

i still vibrate and i need help please.

the swap isnt hard at all.
the hardest part is the pedals. it seems simple and actual IS, but its cramped as a mother ****er and all sorts of stuff that pokes and cuts your hand.

save your self the hassle and buy the alum quadrant early and put it on the pedals b4 u put then in the car, i waited and changing quadrants out in the car isnt fun at all.

some tips for the pedal install.... remove the drivers seat, its all in the way bad, also take out the center console, you have to cut the hole in the floor bigger anyways so make it easier for yourself. and while ur at it, take the passenger seat out also. deep clean the seats and really shampoo the carpet, keeps u busy in case u get real pissed or tired or the t5 swap, or waiting for parts or something.

other than that its just as easy as doing a clutch job. aod out, remove aod flexplate and put flywheel and clutch in, easy as pie.

good luck

you are correct , the job is not that bad it's the other little stuff that can get you really ticked off, my nightmare was having to get the 302 bellousing fork pivot relocated and making the the push on the pedal become a pull on the tranny because the cable setup was not gonna work on mine, so i eventually had to make the whole setup from scratch, i now have mine with a rod instead of the cable.
any ideas where my vibration is coming from Foxfan88.or do i need a witch doctor for this?.

assuming your tranny/engine mounts are ok, might be the drive shaft vibrating.....check the bolts make sure their tight then maybe try re clocking it......

as for the t-5 swap question, just take your time and get all the stuff youneed and give yourself some extra days to work on the car just in case......so you dont have to rush it.

it can be done by yourself on a garage floor with jack stands and jacks. have atleast 4, 3 ton jack stands ( the 3 ton go a tad higher) and a couple decent floor jack. get a floor jack to tranny jack adapter, other wise you'll be bolting a flex plate to a floor jack and using that as a make shift trans jack......lol.....dont ask me how i know!!
