Pulled the car into the garage after a cruise and it would not shift into park. After a little work it did go. How difficult is it to adjust the linkage? and is it necessary to get into the air to do this?
Getting it up on at least jack stands or tall ramps will help, but a lift will be best. There is a plastic clip that holds the linkage to the shifter that you can access without removing anything. It has teeth and the position can be changed. It won't take much as the teeth are small and very close together. I forget exactly how the clip works. I believe it has a part that you slide up to unlock it. Go easy as it can break. I helped a buddy swap his shifter and we were able to unclip it twice without breaking it.
