Auto X tire pressure?

I was just wondering what pressure any of you autoxers ran in your rear tires. I know the fronts have to be heavily inflated or else they will roll, but what about the rears? I just got back from an scca auto x in san francisco, where I ran 40psi in my rear and it just felt like my tires were coming loose far too easily. I want to run a lower pressure, but I am afraid they will roll. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

I usually run about 36 pounds in my rear tires. Any more and I seem to have a hard time getting traction.

Pressures are different depending on what tires you run. But, it is pretty common to run the rears 5-8 pounds lower than the fronts.
