Ok there are a million gear threads but all the ones I read are 90% manual guys talking. My birthday is in 2 weeks and I was going to ask for FRPP 4.10 gears. I know the RPMs with a manual at 75 are around 3,000, would that be the same for an automatic as we only have 4 gears to play with? Next year I will be getting VT stage one cams. Will the stage one + 4.10s be too much? Should I go with 3.73s? The stage ones will be my last performance mod.

I do quite a bit of highway driving. If I had it to do over I would have gotten 3.90's as I have 18's. Truth is though I didnt notice much loss when I went to the 18's even though everyone said I would. Anyways if I was staying N/A I wouldnt go any less than 4.10's.

with 4.10's in a auto @ 70mph you will be just above 2500 rpm more like 2600

4.10's are perfect for auto's. And yes 70mph @ 2600rpm.

Other things to think about:
1. Tranny cooler.
2. Shift-kit/J-Mod.
3. Stall converter.

Awesome, 4.10s it is. That will get me out of the 2000-2200 drone rpm on the highway.
