Autometer tach install 12v power neeeded.

I have a 89 convertible that I am installing an Autometer tach on the a-pillar and I need 12 v power and illumination power. My tach on the cluster just goes to 7,000 RPM and sits there and well thats not working for me anymore! Have seen where you can go soder a new resistor in etc and that is not my skill set for the factory tach.

So here are my questions.

1. Where can I get 12V key on power easily close to where I am installing the meter?
2. Where can I get illumination power easily?
3. How can I just disable my factory tach sitting at 7K RPM?

You have instructions for the tach?

Yes I do and that all looks pretty easy but do I cut a wire on the back of the fuse panel? This is what im asking.

No, unless your good at soldering and I don't like cutting factory wiring anyway, if you probe around the fuse box I believe there is a place with no fuse that is 12v ignition on and you can use a spade connector with the inline fuse.
