Awesome red paint on nephew's 2001 GT: Is this factory?

Nephew just got an 01 I think it is. looks awesome, love the bright red, almost orange paint. Not a black wheel fan at all, but they look great on this scheme. Is this a factory paint?

If someone described the visual mods to that car to me without me seeing it, I would likely say it wouldn't look good; however I actually think it pulls the look off nicely

Not sure what your window tint laws are but those look a bit too dark or it could be the no sunlight in the pic. Either way the car looks good! If its pony in the grill is hiding I think it needs to be the chrome usual one you see, but if its painted black it could be ok.

Not sure what the window tint laws are either, but you will never get pulled over just for that. If they suspect something else maybe. Never heard of anybody getting a tint ticket though.

The red color is of course a factory color. There were actually 3 shades of red available and that one is performance red. It seems to be less common than the others, but I like it too. As you said, it is almost orange in certain light.

Of course, the black accents and black wheels weren't factory, but the whole combination looks pretty good. I normally dislike painted wheels, especially black wheels, but that combination looks pretty good.

I personally think the Torch Red is the best red offered on the Mustang.

However, since redfire replaced laser red, I think redfire is a MUCH better/deeper color than LR.

1999 Only 1,555 GT's(Limited Edition) got this paint color.
2000 became standard color on V-6 and GT. Total 17,764
2001 V-6 and GT 9,775

agreed. thats why my LR 97 will be red fire next spring

Thanks. I like the color over the other reds. Some of the deeper reds seem almost maroon to me. I love my stang, but I'll prolly never buy another black car. it's starting to be too much work for a guy who doesn't like to drive a dirty car.
