My 84 caught fire after a shop did a v-8 conversion, it caught fire on the biggest bridge in Charleston. My mom actually found the VHS recording of the news showing my car burning. I need to see if I can get that footage on the computer somehow. It sucked man, car was a total loss. Just had it painted, new wheels and tires, and the V-8 swap.

You gys are wondering what caused the fire? Well, let me just tell you I lost a 91 GT to that exact same thing. Good old quality ford ignition switches, yes there was a recall, did they tell me? No.

Your 84 is carbed? Mine was some sort of CFI injection or something. It had injectors on what would be called a carb.

yeah F' an airbag. I took the fuse out for mine.
