Axle or control arms?

Every time I brake, either lightly or hard, it creaks like old wood. I can feel it in the brake pedal too! I thought it was the axle, but the axle's in the back. I know it's coming from the front. I have ford fms c-springs on it with everything else being stock for the suspension. I rode it real hard around turns ever since I got the car back in '01. Can someone please tell me if it's the control arms? And if so, where I can get fairly good, cheap ones - don't need the best of the best.
Thnx!! :nice:

Hey a dutch boy!! The creaking you hear could be the bushings. I don't know cause I can't hear them. I suspect what you are hearing are the bushings. Grease them or replace them with polyurathan. If you can find it, use Prothan grease with the new poly's it won't eat up the bushings like regular chassis grease. As for control arms you get what you pay for so don't go cheap. I have a complete Ground Pounder coil over front suspension and K-Member and HPM Megabite Jr Lower and Megabite NON-adjustable uppers and they are a God send to my GT. IT absolutely hooks up and goes where I ponit it and really soaks up bumps in the road.
