Well boys and girls, I went and race at the Funday Sunday event yesterday. It was a pretty good day. They made us run a few 1/8 mile passes because the track was drying. Car felt good so i figured nitrous was a good idea. Launched the car and instantly went straight up on the bumper, carried them past the 60' and i chopped the throttle (bad idea) and then when the wheels came down i stomped it again and pull the tires again. I was so overwhelmed i didn't ever shift into 2nd gear (over revved BAD) Carb burped and caused the fuel to push out of the breather tubes and caused a massive engine fire. Pull over and track crew put the fire out, engine bay is bad... Carb is MELTED....

The car did a 1.32 - 60' TO THE BACK TIRE!! HAHAH - For sure would have been an 8 second pass!

Here are some pictures.

Hope yall enjoy the show!

Damn that's cool, and it's even cooler that it happened while a bow tie was in the other lane. Sorry to hear about the engine bay, though. Ideas on how soon it'll be running again?

I got the top end of themotor pulled apart right now, everything looks good so far. Im trying to get the headers off tonight and pull the heads, see if i blew holes in the pistons or something.

Im going turbo, so its going to be a while. Ditching the carb all together. Im tired of this stone age ****, im going with a standalone FAST XFI!

Car didn't have any damage, back bumper has some scuffs on it. The fuel pump scrapped the ground and it bent the bracket, that's all it hurt on the car. The motor is another story. You have to see this carb, never seen anything like it. Just melted it away. Ill post some pictures when i get home.

Dude you are completely out of control.... I laughed harder with each progressive picture. I could imagine myself reacting the same way and ending up with the same results.
You are a true enthusiast, my friend.

No limiters at the moment, but im going to me looking into something to help the front end from coming up next time. I REALLY dont want wheelie bars, but i just might have to. I guess we will find out.

On a side note. The car wont be going back to the track with a carb on it. It will be fuel injected from now on...

Really wanna see this car aagin when you rebuild it, i was also laughing while scrolling down.

If I was that guy in the chevy though I would have slowed down and let you pass me if I saw that, id be afraid you would come down and swerve over into me.

Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
